DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]SPEAKER PROFILES: \nDr Afrin Shaffi \nAfrin Shaffi is a gynecologic oncologist based in Kwale county.  She completed her undergraduate studies at Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Nepal and proceeded to do her postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Tanzania. \nShe did her fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Moi University/Moi Teaching and Referral hospital\, in Eldoret as well as successfully completed the International Gynecologic Cancer Society\, IGCS\, fellowship. \nShe is an active member of the Kenya Obstetrical and Gynecological Society\, KOGS\, the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). \nShe is currently the country lead for the international Every Woman Study in Kenya in collaboration with World Ovarian Cancer Coalition and IGCS. Dr. Shaffi is a recipient of the NIH grant under the U54 mentorship program. She has headed several outreach clinics and provided free services in underserved areas of Kenya and as an ambassador for MSF to international sites like Malawi. \nHer areas of interests include ovarian and cervical cancer. \nDr Jyoti Wadhwa \nJyoti Wadhwa is a Senior Director in Medical Oncology & Hemato Oncology at Medanta – Gurugram\, India. \nShe has more than 20 years’ experience in oncology\, she is specialised in solid tumours including- breast\, ovary\, lung\, cancer of head and neck\, GI tract\, prostate\, bone & brain tumours. \nShe trained at the prestigious AIIMS New Delhi for both her MD and DM training\, and skilled in Oncology\, Healthcare Management\, Healthcare Internal Medicine\, and Clinical Research. \nShe has also authored a book on breast cancer and has many other publications in national & international journals of repute. \nShe has a Commonwealth Scholarship from Imperial College School of Medicine\, Hammersmith Hospital\, London. Dr Jyoti Wadhwa is a member of National Academy of Medical Sciences\, New Delhi\, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)\, European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) \,Life Member of Indo American Cancer Association & Delhi Medical Association and a Working Committee Member of Indian Journal of Medical and Paediatric Oncology. \nShe is winner of various awards like Lady Willingdon Gold Medal\, MMRF Travel Grant by the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation\, USA\, CSIR Full Travel Grant by Council for Scientific & Industrial Research new Delhi\, to name a few. \nDr Jyoti is an author and compassionate clinician. \nModerator: Dr Khadija Warfa \nKhadija Warfa is a Consultant Gynecologic Oncologist\, who completed her gynaecological oncology fellowship at the University of Calgary\, Canada. \nCurrently Dr. Warfa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Aga Khan University Hospital\, where she had done her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training. She is involved in the training and supervision of postgraduate students. \nDr. Warfa is a member of the Kenya Society of Haematology and Oncology (KESHO) and the African Cancer Coalition and European society of gynecologic oncology (ESGO).
