DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_accordion active_section=”1″][vc_tta_section title=”Speaker Profiles” tab_id=”1715256815421-62f7409a-d088″][vc_column_text]Dr Anisa Mburu\nAnisa Mburu is a gynecologic oncologist at the Aga Khan Hospital\, Mombasa. She is a clinical researcher with special interest in HPV-associated cancers particularly cervical cancer\, pediatric gynecological cancers and palliative care with publications and ongoing research projects on the same. \nShe graduated as a fellow and Early Career Faculty Mentor for the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) as well as the International Cancer Institute (ICI). She completed her Editorial fellowship and has started her tenure as a reviewer for the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer (IJGC). She is also IGCS certified in the Palliative Care Program and as a Trainer of Trainers for the Preinvasive Disease Program and recently selected to be the co-chair of the Palliative Care Work group for IGCS. \nDr Anisa serves as an expert advisor for the WHO sub-committee on the Cervical Cancer Elimination Strategy through Surgical Capacity Building. She is currently on the IGCS education committee for the development of the Palliative Care curriculum and Nursing curriculum for gynecologic oncology. \nShe commenced her 2-year mentorship core with the European Society Of Gynecological Oncology and European Network of Young Gynecologic Oncologists (ESGO-ENYGO) Program under tutelage of Prof. Anna Fagotti. \nShe participated in the curriculum development and Colposcopy training of primary health care workers for the joint effort between the National Cancer Control Program (NCCP) and Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI). \nShe did her postgraduate (residency and fellowship) training at Moi University\, Kenya and her MBA at the University of Nicosia\, Cyprus. Her undergraduate training was at University of Nairobi\, Kenya. \nProfessor Mario Mendes Leitao\nMario Mendes Leitao is a US board certified gynecologic oncologist and a member of multiple national and international societies as well as a member of multiple national committees. He currently serves as the Director for the Minimal Access and Robotic Surgery (MARS) Program in the Department of Surgery at MSKCC which includes all of the surgical services in addition to Gynecology. \nProf Mendes is also the Director the Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program and a Member and Attending Surgeon in the Division of Gynecology within the Department of Surgery at MSKCC as well as a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medical College. He is on the Editorial Boards of Gynecologic Oncology and International Journal of Gynecologic Cancers. \nHe is the Section Editor for Gynecologic Oncology Section in the Annals of Surgical Oncology. He is also a member of the Oncology Special Interest Group and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee for AAGL. \nProf Mario has authored over 240 peer reviewed publications\, over 80 reviews and chapters. \nDr Sumant Gupta\nSumant Gupta is a Senior Consultant & Head Medical Oncology\, Hematology\, BMT & Director at the Metro Cancer Institute\, India. He is a renowned cancer expert and has a vast experience of treating all cancers. He trained at the Cancer Institute (WIA) Adyar\, Chennai and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)\nHis area of expertise includes haematological malignancies and bone marrow transplants. He has been credited for performing Faridabad’s first ever bone marrow transplant. \nHe has received many awards and recognitions including TYSA Young Scholar Award (Medical Oncologist) for the best DM – Oncology Fellow (2015). \nHe has many publications in peer reviewed national and international journals. \nHe is currently the executive committee member of the Indian Society of Oncology & Breast Cancer Foundation India. \nDr Elly Benjamin Odongo (Moderator)\nBenjamin Odongo Elly is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist and Gynaecologic Oncologist with over 23 years of experience in clinical practice and programmatic leadership of public health initiatives. He is a Senior Lecturer and Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Kenyatta University School of Medicine. \nHe has previously served as the Head of The Department of Gynaecologic Oncology at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) Eldoret/Moi University and Honorary Lecturer at Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology\, Moi University School of Medicine. \nWebinar Recording\n[vc_video link=”https://vimeo.com/944636393 “][/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][/vc_column][/vc_row]
