Dr. Riaz is a Consultant Medical Oncologist currently practicing in Mombasa.
He is the Chief Oncologist at Mombasa Cancer Centre and is a visiting consultant at all major
hospitals in Mombasa, Kenya. He previously headed the Oncology department at AgaKhan
Hospital –Mombasa, where he continues to run a busy clinic.
Dr. Kasmani obtained his Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from the University of
Nairobi and pursued subspeciality training in Medical Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital,
Mumbai. Tata Hospital is Asia’s leading oncology and research center. He further undertook
advanced training in Palliative Care at the Marie Curie Institute in Paris.
He is a registered specialist in Oncology with the KMPDC and a Founding Fellow of the
East, Central, and Southern Africa College of Physicians (ESACOP). Dr. Kasmani is also a
founding member of the African Hepatopancreatobiliary Cancer Consortium (AHPBCC).
Dr. Kasmani is actively engaged in cancer research and advocacy. He is a member of ASCO,
ESMO, AORTIC, KESHO, KAP and KMA. He has held several honorary posts both at KAP
and KMA and is currently serving as the Chairman of KAP – Coast Branch. He has a deep
interest in research and has published in renowned oncological journals and has also been a
speaker in numerous national and international conferences.
