Dr. Samuel Nguku is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Imaging at Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi. He holds a Master’s degree in Radiology and a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine.
He is a pioneer in the field of Nuclear Medicine in Kenya and played a key role in the development of the specialty in the region. He was instrumental in designing the curriculum and establishing the clinical Nuclear Medicine fellowship program at Aga Khan University, contributing significantly to training the next generation of specialists.
Dr. Nguku’s research interests focus on molecular imaging, with an emphasis on its application in oncology. He has authored over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is particularly passionate about advancing the integration of molecular imaging and targeted radionuclide therapy in cancer care across Africa, aiming to improve access and outcomes in resource-limited settings.
