Dr. Kevin Makori is a Consultant Clinical & Radiation Oncologist and the Head of the Oncology Department at Homa Bay County Referral Hospital, Kenya.
Dr. Makori is a member of the Kenya Society of Haematology and Oncology (KESHO). He is a Global Associate Member of the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR), UK and an Assistant Editor of the RCR’s official publication, the Clinical Oncology Journal.
Dr. Makori is a seasoned clinical trials investigator in multiple concluded and ongoing phase I – III clinical trials in oesophageal, breast and cervical cancers. He is a principal investigator at Victoria Cancer Care and Research Centers, based in Nyamira County, with clinical research interests spanning the greater South Nyanza and South Rift Regions of the Country.
He is an active member of the oncology multidisciplinary teams in Tenwek Hospital (Bomet), Bosongo Hospital (Kisii) and South Rift Hospital (Kericho).
He received his postgraduate training (MMed Clinical Oncology) at Muhimbili University of Health & Allied Sciences, domiciled at Tanzania’s national oncology referral centre, the Ocean Road Cancer Institute, Dar es Salaam.
His key professional interests are in radiation sciences, immuno-oncology, clinical trials and oncology education.
