Dr Masasabi is a senior lecturer at Kenyatta University.
His areas of specialization include General Surgery, Health Systems Management, Policy Analysis, Formulation and Implementation and Global health Policy Advocacy
His research interests include:
- Challenges to the Health systems in the delivery of Surgical oncology services during the Covid 19 pandemic
- Challenges in the Implementation of Health Insurance in the informal sector
Dr Masasabi holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and Master’s in Surgery from the University of Nairobi. He is an ongoing PHD candidate of Health Systems Management, at the Kenya Methodist University (KEMU)
He is a member of the following professional bodies:
- Member of the Kenya Society of Haematology & Oncology (KESHO)
- Member of the Health Systems Management Association (HESMA)
- Full member of the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
- A registered and retained member of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council (KMP&DC).
- Member of the Kenya Medical Association (KMA)
- Member of the Surgical Society of Kenya (SSK)
- Founder member of the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA) 2002
In 2020 he received a Head of State Commendation as a Covid Champion.
