Dr Helena Musau
Helena Musau is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist working at Kenyatta University Teaching Research and Referral Hospital. She is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Nairobi, Radiation Oncology program.

Dr. Musau is a Member of various Ministry of Health technical working groups aimed at improving access to cancer care in Kenya, and the current Secretary of the Kenya Society of Haematology and Oncology (KESHO).

Dr Musau has worked in both the private and public sectors as well as managed oncology and palliative care projects at various levels over the last 13 years.

Dr Andrew Odhiambo
Andrew Odhiambo is a Consultant Physician/Medical Oncologist & Program Director/Lecturer (Medical Oncology Fellowship Program) at the University of Nairobi. Dr. Andrew holds a Master’s degree in Internal Medicine from the University of Nairobi. He has attended preceptorship training in Haematological Oncology & Infectious Diseases from the University of Maryland Marleen & Stewart Greenbaum Cancer Centre in the United States. He later did his Fellowship in Medical Oncology in the United Kingdom and was certified by the Federation of Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom as well as the Association of Cancer Physicians and the European Society for Medical Oncology. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh as well as the East, Central & Southern Africa College of Physicians.

Dr Andrew is the outgoing Secretary & former Treasurer of Kenya Society of Haematology & Oncology (KESHO). He is a member of KAP, ASCO, ESMO, AORTIC & ECSACOP. Dr. Andrew serves as an expert advisor for local and international bodies i.e. MOH, Kenya Cancer Prevention TWG, ASCO & NCCN Cancer Treatment Guidelines Committees. He has published several articles on cancer in both international and local peer reviewed scientific journals.

Dr. Andrew was awarded the prestigious Business Daily Africa Top 40 under 40 men in the year 2017. He is passionate about cancer education and awareness especially through digital platforms. He has over 50 appearances in mainstream local and international TV and print media promoting cancer awareness.

Professor Mohsen Mokhtar
Mohsen Mokhtar is a Professor of Clinical Oncology in Al-Kasr Al-Aini Medical School and Cairo University, Cairo Egypt. Prof Mokhtar assisted in developing the syllabus and course structure at Al-Kasr Al-Aini, as well as, supervised several research programs and theses.

Prof Mokhtar is the managing Director of Cairo University Center of Oncology and Nuclear Medicine NEMROCK and the President of CANSURVIVE.

Prof Mokhtar has published more than 50 articles in several regional magazines in topics including: breast, lung, pediatric, colorectal, ovarian malignancies NHL and hematologic malignancies. Professionally, he has more than 20 years of experience in hospital management. He is currently the chief medical director in Elaj group covering the clinical and medical audit of group facilities.

Dr Allan Njau
Allan Njau is an Assistant Professor in the department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi, Kenya. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nairobi (2008), Master of medicine in Anatomic Pathology from the Aga Khan University (2016) and a fellowship in Molecular Pathology from Augusta University, GA, USA (2020). His roles include clinical service in the Anatomic Pathology and Molecular Pathology sections of the institution as well as teaching.

Dr Njau’s  interests are in the fields of molecular assays, especially oncology testing, bioinformatics, laboratory management and hepatobiliary pathology. His past and current research engagements are in the areas of pathology informatics, Acute myeloid leukemia, endometrial carcinoma, extrapulmonary tuberculosis, Covid-19, gastric cancer and Helicobacter pylori infections. He is a member of the Association for Molecular Pathology and American Association of Cancer Research.

Dr Daniel Gathege
Daniel Gathege is the General Surgical Unit Head and COSECSA Program Director at Kenyatta University Teaching Referral and Research Hospital.

He holds a Masters of Medicine in Surgery from the Aga Khan University.

Dr Gathege has an interest in addressing the increasing surgical burden and the unmet need in surgical oncology in the region.

Dr Stephen Kibengo Chege (Moderator)
Stephen Chege is a Clinical Oncologist at the Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital Oncology Center.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery from Kampala International University, Uganda and a Master’s in Clinical Oncology from Muhumbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, Tanzania.

His areas of interest in oncology include GIT Cancers, Head and Neck Cancers, Prostate and Cervical Cancer.
