Andrew Odhiambo is a board certified Consultant Physician & Medical Oncologist at the Prime CancerCare Clinic – Nairobi. He is the Unit Head for Medical Oncology at the University of Nairobi (UON). Dr. Andrew holds a Master’s degree in Internal Medicine from the UON. He later did his Fellowship in Medical Oncology in the United Kingdom and is certified by the Federation of Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (RCP-UK), The Association of Cancer Physicians (ACP) and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). He is a Fellow of  the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh as well as the East, Central & Southern Africa College of Physicians.

He is the outgoing Secretary & former treasurer of Kenya Society of Haematology & Oncology (KESHO). Dr Andrew is a member ASCO, ESMO & AORTIC. He serves as an expert advisor for local and international bodies i.e. MOH, Kenya Cancer Prevention TWG, various international Cancer Treatment Guidelines Committees. He has published several articles on cancer in both international and local peer reviewed scientific journals. Dr Andrew has attended over 50 oncology meetings both local and international. He has made over 40 oral presentations and continuously supports Oncology Multidisciplinary team meetings in various top hospitals in Nairobi.

Dr Andrew was awarded the prestigious Business Daily Africa Top 40 under 40 men in the year 2017. He is passionate about cancer education and awareness especially through digital platforms. He has over 60 appearances in mainstream local and international TV, Radio and print media promoting cancer awareness. Key areas of sub-specialization and interest include Gastrointestinal cancers, Pancreatic, Liver  & Bile Duct cancer, Metastatic Breast Cancer, Lymphoma, Cancer of Unknown Primary as well as newer treatments i.e. Immunotherapy & Targeted therapy.

Moderator: Dr Kevin Makori 
Kevin Makori is a Clinical Oncologist at the International Cancer Institute Care and Research Clinic (ICI-CRC), Eldoret Kenya. He is involved in cancer patient care and several ongoing immunooncology and haematology clinical trials as a sub investigator at ICI, under the mentorship of his PI and Director, Prof Chite Asirwa. He also heads the Education and Training Office at the Institute, and is involved in teaching and coordination of various oncology capacity building activities. Dr Makori is also a visiting Clinical Oncologist at Tenwek Hospital and a member of the Hospital’s oncology multidisciplinary team.

He received his postgraduate training (MMed Clinical Oncology) at Muhimbili University of Health & Allied Sciences, a program domiciled at Tanzania’s national oncology referral centre, Ocean Road Cancer Institute, Dar es Salaam.

Dr Makori is a member of the Kenya Society of Haematology and Oncology (KESHO), a Global LMIC Associate (Non-Training) Member of the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) and ASCO. He is a Junior Associate Editor of the RCR’s Clinical Oncology Journal and a current beneficiary of the Journal’s Junior Assistant Editor Mentorship Programme.

His key professional interests are in radiation sciences, immuno-oncology, clinical trials and oncology education.
