Dr. Abuodha did his undergraduate medical degree from Moi University, after which he was involved in clinical trials with KEMRI/CDC, being a sub-investigator in the GlaxoSmithKline Malaria Vaccine candidate trial. Upon completion of the study, he entered the oncology world at AMPATH-KENYA, being one of the study doctors in the Division of Haematology-Oncology, where he was involved in Kaposi’s sarcoma and haemophilia care of patients in the catchment area, in addition to general cancer care. He subsequently successfully pursued his speciality training in Internal Medicine at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi, and further became a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, during this period. He later joined the Aga Khan University Hospital as a physician instructor in the Department of Haematology and Oncology and later started as the inaugural fellow in Medical Oncology, successfully completing in December 2024. He continued working at the same institution as a Consultant Medical Oncologist upon completion.

Dr. Abuodha has a keen interest in oncology, in particular gastro-intestinal oncology, technological application to cancer care, survivorship and building capacity for medical research and collaboration in Eastern Africa.
